Caring for your crochet
Handmade crochet is sturdier than it looks — with a little gentle care, your piece will stay soft, bright and beautiful for years.
Washing
Hand wash in cool water with a small amount of mild detergent. Gently squeeze the suds through — never wring or twist, as this can stretch the stitches out of shape. Rinse in cool water, then press the water out between two towels.
Drying
Dry flat on a towel, gently reshaped to its original form. Please don't hang it (the weight of the water stretches crochet) and keep it out of the tumble dryer and direct sunlight.
Plushies
Our plushies prefer spot cleaning — a damp cloth with a little mild soap on the spot, then air dry. A full soak can affect their stuffing and shape.
Bobbles & fuzz
A little pilling is natural with love and wear. A gentle fabric comb or shaver, used lightly, will freshen the surface right up.
Storage
Store your pieces folded, not on hangers, somewhere dry and away from direct sun. If a loose thread ever appears, please don't pull it — message us at @craftingyarn and we'll tell you exactly how to fix it.
